Shouldnt be an issue anyway as you're clearly doing re-enacting and have a good cause to be carrying it... if you forgot about it and went off site to go to the local take away that would probably be another kettle of fish

Alex , if you're not already signed up wit AFRA you really should do as it provides you with a card that explains to the police that while taking part in re-enactment duties you may be in possesion of pyro, knives and imitation or blank firearms and has a handy number should anyone get jumpy about it or detain you.... add to that obviously you're insured should anyone get hurt while that knife is being tossed to a mate etc...

I think Alex/Nigel's point was that it was an impressive looking rubber knife but I could be wrong!
(although, regardless of whether knives/guns are real or not, common sense says display/use in public places should be appropriate and in context of course)

I would imagine I'd find it incredibly hard to stab anyone with one of the fieldwerks trenchknives...it was a struggle to keep it in a straight line when holding it horizontally it's so bendy.

Took my BAR out for a spin on the weekend at a new North East Scotland site. Replaced the Ranger tabs with the Big Red One patch (I need para boots, not gaiters for a accurate 2nd Rangers impression) Going for a late Normandy Campaign look, Operation Cobra probably.

Wearing the jacket over the webbing this time, noticed a fair soldiers doing it in the newsreels and photos. Very comfortable, and actually handy for the heat, you can take off the jacket when you are getting a bit sweaty and not have to worry about removing your harness!

Very nice - you certainly look the part.

A coat of dubbin on your boots will improve your look, keep your feet dry and help your boots last longer.

The photo you posted shows the one on your right arm the correct way round I actually looked at it and checked when I saw the photo, knowing that you had a bit of a mix-up with them, before even reading this comment!

Please do not get me wrong. Your impression is nice, i just want to give you some constructive criticism based
on my opinion. IMHO it is a bit too much gear, sure there is the famous picture you posted, there are others with
lots of gear. But the majority of photos show way way less, especially after a few days in the field. I guess
in the end it is an exception/norm thing.

I am also not sure if your combination of gear is correct. The Jungle first aid kit was introduced quite late in the
war, it would be very rare for a Marine to still wear a complete set of camouflage utilities by this time. Same goes
for the grenade pouch and to some extend for this type of e-tool cover as well.

You should carry the knife on your belt, wearing it on the chest is "NAM" style

My Marines are using old uniform on Okinawa AHAH LOL
